THA 205 Intro to Technical Theatre & Design: Theory and techniques in the areas of stage scenery, properties,
costuming, make-up, lighting, & sound. Construction, rigging safety,
tools, materials, and equipment.
THA 515 Stage Management Application of principles of stage management to theatre productions;
projects in organization and supervision of crews or production
companies.
THA 609 Theatre Design and Computers Exploration of the tools, programs, and applications involved with
computer assisted design for lighting and/or scenery for the stage.
THA 712 Portfolio Development Supervised development of materials for design/technical theatre
portfolios, workshops in presentation,interview techniques.
Introduction to entertainment industry business practices.
THA 313 Lighting & Sound Lab and Crew Practical experiences in technical work associated with university
productions in the areas of lighting and sound.
THA tba Advance Technical Methods A discussion of materials and methods used in the creation of scenic and lighting designs, by designers. This class is for the the designer with limited knowledge of carpentry, rigging, painting, etc. Hands-on exercises will include welding, carpentry, foam & plastics, sewing & serging, drapes & curtains, props construction. The class will also break down the heirarchy of theatre and the expectations put on designers in the professional setting.
Supervisory Courses:
THA 657 Practicum in School and Community Supervised fieldwork experience in conjunction with school and
community performing arts program. May be repeated once by permission
of supervisor.
THA 699 Special Study Special projects/independent study of some aspect of the field
